Ashish Sethia, Bloomberg New Energy Finance

Ashish Sethia manages Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s efforts in India and Southeast Asia. His team assesses asset valuations, financing structures, investment trends, contractual terms, policy developments and other on the ground issues in renewable energy, natural gas/LNG, coal, smart grids, energy storage and carbon markets. Over the years he has moderated sessions and spoken on the energy sector at forums such as the World Future Energy Summit, World Energy Leader’s Summit, the White House Executive Office and the Clean Energy Ministerial. Prior to joining Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Sethia managed the emissions management solution of the European business consulting and technology firm Logica and was part of their global expert group on smart grids. He was one of the youngest Full Lifecycle Business Leader at Satyam Computers and helped the company expand its energy & utilities business globally. Sethia also headed up the commercial operations of one of India’s largest power distribution companies delivering revenues of over $40m every year. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, he has a first class degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering and a MBA in Finance & Infrastructure Management. Neelima Jain, EESL

Neelima Jain is a Programme Manager at Energy Efficiency Service Ltd (EESL). As National Programme Manager-DELP, she leads and manages the roll-out of the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP), launched by Prime Minister Modi in 100 cities. DELP is the largest Energy Efficiency programme in the world. She also works with public sector entities and state governments to help shape demand side management programmes. In previous roles, Jain led planning and operations for one of the largest CDM programs in the world, and has implemented smart grid initiatives at gas and electricity utilities in India and UK. Jain has 12 years of programme management and consulting experience across energy efficiency, carbon finance, power, and gas industries. She has provided advisory services across the entire gas and electricity value chain. Jain has a Master of Science in Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani.

David Rasquinha, ExIm Bank

David Rasquinha is the Deputy Managing Director of Export-Import Bank of India. At ExIm, he is responsible for Project Exports, Lines of Credit, Treasury & Accounts, Human Resources, Information Technology, Economic Research and Risk Management groups. David joined ExIm Bank in 1985 and since then has had wide ranging exposure to the fields of Export Credit, Structured Finance, Project Exports, Risk Management, Resources and Treasury. He has served as a member on several Working Groups set up by the Reserve Bank of India on issues of relevance to exports and export credit. From 1999 – 2004, he served as Resident Representative at the Bank’s Washington DC Representative Office, where he was instrumental in boosting Indian companies’ efforts to secure procurement business. He also spearheaded the formation of an export factoring joint venture with the International Finance Corporation. Rasquinha has lectured on various aspects of export financing at bank training colleges, academic institutions, and industry bodies in both India and USA. He is a member of the National Jury for the CII-Exim Award for Business Excellence. 

Ajay Pandey, GIFT

Mr. Ajay Pandey is the Managing Director & Group CEO of the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Co. Ltd. (GIFT), a joint venture of Government of Gujarat and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd. (IL&FS). Pandey has over 30 years of professional experience in General Management. He has had a strong background in Telecommunications, Infrastructure & Services Industry and has held business leader and board level positions both in India and in international markets. He is a mechanical engineer and has done management programs from London Business School & Harvard Business School. He is also a Fellow of Telecommunications Executive Management Institute (TEMIC-Canada). He held these senior level positions such as MD/CEO/President/ Board Member in various companies of Tata Group, Godrej Group and Xerox. A passionate business leader, he has been instrumental in guiding various start up initiatives and projects. He has led many cross cultural and cross geographical teams as a part of his global assignments.

Rahul Munjal, Hero Future Energies

Rahul Munjal is the Managing Director of Hero Future Energies.  Growing environmental concerns and the alarming rate of depletion of natural resources inspired Munjal to work towards a greener tomorrow through starting Hero Future Energies Limited. Within two years from inception, Hero Future Energies has installed a total of 100 MW in wind power in the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The Company has also commissioned roof-top projects and is in the process of executing 150 MW Wind and 40 MW Solar Projects. The Company has a pipeline of around 500 MW projects under development both in wind and solar power.

Sreekanta Chaterjee, ICICI

Sreekanta Chatterjee heads the onshore Debt Capital Markets business at ICICI Bank Limited and is based at the Bank’s Corporate Head Office in Mumbai, India. His current responsibilities include suggesting optimal borrowing solutions to the Bank’s clients and assisting them in raising funds from corporate bond markets. His major achievements include the first INR perpetual bond issuance by an Indian private corporate, the closure of the first INR local currency credit default swap transaction, and handling one of the largest government-guaranteed bond issuance. As part of ICICI Bank’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders to develop bond markets, he had represented the Bank on several committees and has worked with regulators, policy makers and industry bodies for several market development initiatives. He has been part of the CDS Implementation Group focused on establishing the infrastructure needed the for roll out of local currency credit default swaps in India.

Abhay Bongirwar, IDBI Bank

Mr.Abhay Bongirwar, Executive director at IDBI bank, has more than 32 years of experience in areas ranging from infrastructure finance, project appraisal, recovery, retail banking, investment banking, corporate advisory, and debt syndication. He is a seasoned banker with special expertise in infrastructure & structured finance and business turnarounds with growth orientation through quick decisions and need based delegation. Bongirwar has financed projects in almost all sectors, including Road, Power, Telecom, Satellite communicate.on, Oil & Gas, Shipping, steel, solid waste management, and cement. He works closely with Indian state governments on social development projects such as rural development, renewable energy, smart cities, and solar pumps. Presently, as ED, Bongirwar has been involved in the appraisal and funding of more than 40+ projects.

Jayen Shah, IDFC

Jayen Shah is the Executive Vice President & Head of Debt Capital Markets at IDFC. His areas of expertise include debt origination, structuring, executing, and placement of debt market including bonds, loans, bank capital securities and structured products. Jayen re-energized IDFC’s fixed income franchise and has executed several innovative and first-of-its-kind bond transactions, including corporate green and project bonds. He has structured and executed derivatives across asset-classes of credit, rates, currency & commodities. In 1995, Jayen started his career in fixed income group of Kotak Mahindra. Through his career, Shah has worked with numerous financial institutions such as ABN AMRO, Rabo, Royal Bank of Scotland and Standard Chartered. Jayen is a CFA Charter-holder of the CFA Institute (USA) and an active member of its India Advocacy Committee. He holds a Masters Degree in Management from University of Mumbai.

 

Satish Kumar Bhargava, IREDA

Satish Kumar Bhargava is IREDA's Director of Finance as well as Chief Financial Officer. Bhargava has 32 years of experience in Public Sector Undertakings. As General Manager/Director (Finance) at IREDA, he has strengthened and aligned administrative and financial functions. He has handled various finance functions including Resource Mobilisation, Loan Disbursement, Corporate Accounts & Taxation; Corporate Affairs and Company Secretariat matters; Legal functions and Human resources functions. Prior to joining IREDA on 2nd May 2000, he was at Central Electronics Ltd., Sahibabad. He is responsible for formulating financial strategies and plans to enable the Company in achieving its vision. He provides directions with respect to Financial Management and Operations of the organization encompassing organizational and financial planning, formulation of financial policy, financial accounting, management control systems, cash and funds management, tax planning, mobilization and management of resources, liaison with financial institutions. He also supervises treasury functions, lending operations and advises on corporate risk management matters.

Rajeev Karthikeyan, Leap Green Energy


Rajeev Karthikeyan is the Founder and the Managing Director of Leap Green Energy as well as the Joint Managing Director of Sri Karthikeya Spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd. At Leap Green Energy, Karthikeyan leads business strategy and innovation. He has more than 15 years of entrepreneurial experience across manufacturing, IT, and energy, as well as over 10 years of experience directly in wind energy. Karthikeyan pioneered the C&I Sales model in wind power for the textile industry in Tamil Nadu and worked jointly with Devanand Vijayan to raise seed capital from JP Morgan for Leap Green Energy.


Rathin Roy, NIPFP

Rathin Roy is Director and CEO of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy New Delhi.  With postings in London, New York, Kathmandu, Brasilla and Bangkok, he has worked as an Economic Diplomat and Policy Advisor with UNDP, focusing on emerging economies.  He has taught at the Universities of Manchester and London and served as Economic Adviser with the Thirteenth Finance Commission.  Dr. Roy is Member, India Advisory Committee, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Inquiry into a Sustainable Financial System, Member on the Meta Council on Inclusive Growth, World Economic Forum, Geneva, Member, Poverty Task Force, Government of India and Member, FRBM Review Committee, Government of India. Dr. Roy holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Ravi Seth, ReNew

Ravi Seth is the Chief Financial Officer at Renew Power Ventures Pvt Ltd, one of the largest Independent Power Producer in India. As CFO his responsibilities include strategy formulation, M&A, fund raising, taxation, legal support and compliance and corporate governance. He has over 29 years of experience spanning numerous industries. Seth has 15 years of experience in the role of CFO/COO. Ravi started his career with ITC Ltd and thereafter has worked with HT Media, Abbott India Ltd and Strides Arcolab Ltd. At HT Media, he worked on large funding projects. At Strides, Ravi’s contribution as CFO included large fund raising, global tax structuring, cross border M&A deals of over $1bn, forex and risk management. In his subsequent role as COO at Strides he ran international operations spread across the globe, comprising of business development, production operations and trading with a team of 500 people and a topline responsibility of $200mn.

Sudipto Jana, State Bank of India

Sudipto Jana is Chief General Manager of Credit Policy and Procedures at the State Bank of India (SBI). He oversees SBI's green banking initiatives such as lending in the renewable energy space. Jana has 38 years of banking experience. Previously, Jana has held various positions at SBI, involved in corporate funding, international banking, as well as audits.
